Maritime Expert Forum
Indonesia, particularly Maluku, boasts rich marine biodiversity, a strategic national asset. The development of national energy projects in coastal and marine areas must be in line with a commitment to protecting and enhancing biodiversity. The Net Gain Biodiversity (NGB) concept exists as an international standard, emphasizing that all development must generate ecological benefits that outweigh the resulting impacts.
In the context of total defense, harmony between humans and nature is at the heart of the Development of the National Defense System in Maintaining and Controlling the Sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Maritime defense not only safeguards national borders but also ensures that marine ecosystems remain productive and sustainable. Furthermore, the implementation of NGB is directly linked to poverty alleviation, as healthy ecosystems support food security, create new jobs, and strengthen the economies of coastal communities.
This forum is expected to serve as a platform for cross-sector collaboration to formulate technical recommendations that can serve as national and international references. Through this forum, Maluku emerges as a model for the integration of maritime sovereignty, biodiversity conservation, and poverty alleviation.
